Handmade Books

I loved bookbinding in college. These are a few that I made way back when. I unearthed the photos while searching through my external hard drive. The image on the bottom was my favorite book. I made it during grad school, at the begining of my second year and I decided to carry it with me everywhere I went, EVERYWHERE. I sketched little maps inside its pages of the routes I was taking to and from classes. I wrote words next to the maps, anything that would just come to mind. I brought it to the beach with me and it went swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. It took showers with me, cooked dinner with me, went for bike rides and antique shopping. It is a little dirty and worn but each page has its own unique character. I'm not sure why I needed to carry that book with me, but I enjoyed the process.

Some of my favorite inspirations...vintage fabric, it is a great resource. I buy it on eBay, scan it into my computer and then if I ever need a great element to add to one of my cards it is always there for printing.

For the Bride and Groom

New Designs

These cute little characters come from the book Nursery Friends from France. The book was published by The Book House for Children in 1925. I grew up with this book and others from The Book House for Children. They are printed on white flat or folded cards and hand embellished with glitter. Thank you to United Educators, Inc for giving me permission to use these images. For ordering info visit my website www.goodwishesgreetings.com
